Saint-Joseph Chapel

Saint-Joseph Chapel

Description

The Saint Joseph chapel, associated with its hermitage and spring, has always provided shelter for shepherds and pilgrims, as well as resistance fighters during the Second World War.

Departure in Volonne, called "les 3-Bastides" (2km away from the village, North-East). No carpark, so park on the roadside, before "ravin de la Cave".
The St-Joseph chapel, associated to its hermitage and source, has, during all times, sheltered shepherds and pilgrims, as well as resistants during World War II. From the cross that overhangs the chapel, you will have a pretty viewpoint on Duyes and Durance valleys.
The paths begins from the Grave bridge, at the "3-Bastides". Fromm there, wind by a large path, at the bottom of the ravine, to a tank, where you leave the Magdeleine tour PR on your right.
