The upper part of this 15-hectare park is protected from the floods of the Garonne. Inhabited since the 12th century, it is distinguished by its chapel, now converted into a theatre, its beautiful plantations and its playgrounds. In the lower part, a discovery trail allows those who are curious about nature to observe the fauna and flora of this wetland area criss-crossed by esteys.
As early as the 12th century, monks settled on the upper part of the park to protect themselves from the strong tides of the Garonne and organized a self-sufficient life. Six centuries later, the park was part of a vast agricultural estate called Le Tourmalin.
The Balades à Roulettes® (BR®) are short, quiet walks, with a pushchair or a small bicycle, or adapted for people with reduced mobility (in a wheelchair), proposed by the French Federation of Rambling of the Gironde.
