This 65-hectare park illustrates the successful reconversion of an old gravel pit, whose 3 ponds make it all the more picturesque. In summer, at the end of August, don't miss the Ambès Odysseys festival, dedicated to the performing arts.
In the 18th century, Ambès was a meeting place. Located at the confluence of the Dordogne and the Garonne, where the two rivers mix to form the Gironde, the largest estuary in Atlantic Europe. A vast traffic of goods, including contraband, existed then with the ports of Bordeaux and Libourne.
The Balades à Roulettes® (BR®) are short, quiet walks, with a pushchair or a small bicycle, or adapted for people with reduced mobility (in a wheelchair), proposed by the Fédération Française de Randonnée de la Gironde.
