Description

It left for a tour of the largest freshwater lake in France! Picnics are in backpacks, bicycles are properly inflated, sunscreen is in place we went for a bike day exploring Lake Carcans-Hourtin! Departure Maubuisson, we follow the Lake Boulevard on the bike path, the lake is still beautiful! City Carcans direction. The bike path is flat and well maintained rolling! Arriving at Carcans, we turn left towards Hourtin, we are before a long straight line is not discouraged !! After an hour we arrive at Hourtin and pay the port management to agree a swim on the beach lifeguard. Swimming and small snack, Hourtin beach is ideal for swimming and swim! We leave to Hourtin beach, lunch will be at the edge of the lagoon Contaut, it seems that it is beautiful! The bike path is a little more diverse, it goes up, it goes down, we see pretty chaineraies vegetation and change regularly.

Maubuisson / Carcans-Ville

Départ de Maubuisson, nous longeons le boulevard du lac sur la piste cyclable, le lac est toujours aussi beau ! Direction Carcans ville. La piste cyclable est plate et bien entretenue, ça roule !

Carcans-Ville / Hourtin-Ville

En arrivant sur Carcans, nous tournons à gauche direction Hourtin, nous voilà devant une grande ligne droite on ne se décourage pas !! Après une bonne heure nous arrivons à Hourtin.

Hourtin-Ville / Hourtin-Port

Prenons la direction du port pour s’accorder une petite baignade sur la plage surveillée. Baignade et petit encas, la plage d’Hourtin est idéale pour se baigner et faire quelques brasses !

Hourtin -Port / Rue de Mauricet

Nous repartons vers Hourtin plage, pour cela reprendre la piste cyclable jusqu'au camping les Ourmes et tourner à gauche en direction de Contaut/Hourtin Plage.

Rue de mauricet / Contaut

Sur la route de Mauricet (au niveau de l'Hôtel des Pins) prendre à gauche jusqu'à la grande route. La traverser avec prudence et continuez jusqu’à la Lagune de Contaut. La pause déjeuner se fera au bord de la Lagune de Contaut, il parait que c’est magnifique !

La Lagune de Contaut

Nous arrivons dans la douceur de la lagune de Contaut… et trouvons une table pour pique-niquer ! La pause nous fait du bien après quasiment 2h de vélo ! Nous restons vigilants il paraît qu'il y a des cistudes ...

Contaut / Route des Phares

14h30, c’est reparti ! La piste cyclable est un peu plus diversifiée, ça monte, ça descend, nous voyons de jolies chêneraies et changeons de végétation régulièrement. On continue jusqu'à la route des phares qui est aussi la vélodyssée. On prend à gauche pour aller en direction de Carcans-Plage / Maubuisson
