Gimel les Cascades is the starting point for this tour. The adventure begins with a breathtaking panorama of the Montane gorges, home to an amazing triptych of waterfalls. It is also an opportunity to gain height by visiting the ruins of the castle of Gimel.
In Marcillac-la-Croisille, water is omnipresent and shapes the landscape. Its artificial lake is held back by the 50m high Chastang dam, giving a magnificent view over the Doustre valley.
A few kilometres further on, the medieval town of La Roche-Canillac stands on the hillside, proudly overlooking the valley.
