Haut-lieu de la guerre de 1870 où le 06 août, s'est déroulée la deuxième bataille et défaite française de cette guerre. De l'emplacement où est situé le char américain qui symbolise la victoire des alliés, Adolf Hitler a adressé, son discours de Noël. Très fréquenté pour son tourisme militaire, le site des Hauteurs est aussi un lieu de promenade et de détente très prisé grâce à son panorama exceptionnel, ses chemins et sentiers forestiers et sa zone d'accueil pédagogique transfrontalière.

The story of the origins of the Chapelle, a Gothic gem from the 13th century, is still coloured by legend, and many a historian and scholar has tried to penetrate the mystery that surrounds it. One thing that’s certain is that this building has undergone numerous alterations through the ages. Since 2007, it has been a staging post on the Way of Saint James pilgrimage, a route listed as a UNESCO World Heritage cultural site. Visitors are received by the nuns in residence.

Ce site formant un éperon rocheux est chargé d’histoire mais également doté d’une flore remarquable. Des vestiges préhistoriques et gallo-romains sont à observer en sillonnant les sentiers. Le long d'un chemin forestier menant à la Chapelle Sainte Hélène, le promeneur pourra découvrir la prêle d'hiver, plante très rare en Lorraine. Des bornes pédagogiques donneront également de précieuses informations sur le lieu tout au long de la balade.

Cast in an exceptional setting, the largest US cemetery from the Second World War in Europe. The cemetery spans 46 hectares in a green setting which is the final resting place for some 10,489 US soldiers who lost their lives during the Second World War.

Standing on the banks of the peaceful River Nied, this austere but elegant château was built in 1720 for Jean-Baptiste Thomas, Marquis de Pange, on the site of an older fortress. The Pange family still lives in the château and it is filled with busts, paintings and engravings illustrating its history. In 2003, the new gardens were inaugurated. They were designed by landscape gardener Louis Benech as part of the cross-border network of “Gardens without Borders”.
