This circuit lets you discover contemporary buildings, architecture and contemporary art galleries.
Circuit:
- St Etienne’s Cathedral: stained glass windows by Villon, Bissière, Chagall;
- the Cour d’Or Museum: the fine art section with works by Bazaine, Soulages, Zao Wou-Ki, Alechinsky, Dubuffet and temporary exhibitions;
- Frac Lorraine, (end 12th C beginning 13th C): exhibitions, projections, guided visits meet the artist etc.;
- Metz City Archives installed in old reservoirs renovated in 2002 by the architects Christian Paradon, Claude Denu, Gérard Buffière; St Maximin’s church with stained glass windows by Jean Cocteau (1962-70);
- Centre Pompidou-Metz opened in 2010, and is by the architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, exhibitions and rendez-vous modern and contemporary art.
- Possible extensions to the circuit: the Pontiffroy district, library and learning centre, the Arènes sports centre, Seille park, St Thérèse’s church.
