A family hike of less than 3 hours (with a few less easy sections) where nature and built heritage mingle. The trail follows in the footsteps of the Benedictine monks. The bastide town of Larreule was created at the end of the 13th century by Benedictine monks, at the foot of the 10th-century abbey. It is one of the 3 most important abbeys in Béarn. The interior features a high altar, the Assumption, and 2 statues, the Virgin and Child and Saint Loup, carved from half a vertically split tree trunk. Preferably hiked in summer: paths are often muddy and flooded.
