A commercial crossroads located on the Metz-Strasbourg and Sarreguemines-Nancy roads, the town of Puttelange aux Lacs, once the stronghold of the Counts of Salm, has undoubtedly been so for centuries. Thanks to its industry and trade, the name of Puttelange was exported all over the world.
From its creation in the 6th century to the present day, the town has never ceased to adapt to changing circumstances and historical events. Sometimes French, sometimes German, the town and its inhabitants have had to adapt to new rules and legislation several times. A town that was ravaged during the fighting of the Second World War, only a few houses escaped destruction. We invite you to take this tour and discover the old face of Puttelange aux lacs and the history associated with it.
