Description

The Aspe Valley may be teeming with bike paths but is it too much to say that we've achieved perfection here? The loop in question is so intense that you appreciate the tarmac ascents. The top-class descents are long and demanding but so beautiful!

Steps

Descent to Gabaret

Go back up a few metres and head down the left-hand trail. Watch out for blind bends (there may be hikers) and slants (roots and stones). Go over the Traillère stream then the Sarité (change down a gear beforehand and the exit leap will go perfectly!). The end is pure joy. Drop onto the path and glide to the bridge.

crossing

On the flat in the third bend, hit the path that veers left. A long trek through the forest begins with short technical ascents, slant passages and a few steps. After a clearing the path follows the ridge on the edge of the woods. Be careful as the slope gets steep and very pebbly with some steps. This tricky section comes out onto a piste.

The view over the valley is wonderful before you head into the woods.

Paragliding

As soon as the weather is right, the sky over Accous is teeming with paragliders. Take-off is on the Bergout. If you fancy a maiden flight or lessons then an Air-attitude school in Accous has all the expertise and skills you need.
