By bike, on the Espierres Canal

Starting at the Maison du Canal, you cycle alongside the historic Espierres Canal. This section is part of EuroVelo 5. You will soon reach the River Escaut and the long rows of poplar trees beside it. Former arms of the river which have turned into marshes appear now and again on your right. When you get to Pecq, the route continues along narrow and tranquil country roads. You finish the outing almost surrounded by wheat, sugar beet, maize and flax fields. When you get back to the Maison du Canal, you can round off your outing with a wee drink or two at the tavern.
