Description

This trail helps you discover the thermal history of the Western Vosges. The village of Dolaincourt has a small sulphurous, sodic and arsenic thermal spring, which has been exploited since the middle of the 19th century, in a small yellown wooden building. This small cabin was used as a refreshment room and as a bottling plant until 1914. The village of Vouxey has a beautiful church dating from the 16th century.

Remonter vers la mairie

Remonter vers la mairie (calvaire). Traverser le village à droite par la rue de la Source (D27). Poursuivre jusqu'à la source sulfureuse de Sarmery (en chemin : Eglise Saint-Genêt, grand calvaire sur son parvis, moulin Mulné, source sulfureuse); la dépasser d'environ 100 m.

S'engager à droite

S'engager à droite sur le chemin de champ. En haut de la côte emprunter le chemin herbeux à droite en lisière de bois (ancienne voie romaine). Atteindre un carrefour de chemins (point de vue).

Monter à gauche

Monter à gauche par le chemin herbeux dans le bois. Poursuivre sur un chemin empierré et redescendre jusqu'à l'entrée de Vouxey. Au calvaire, traverser la village par la route à gauche. Remonter la Petite-Rue-Sous-l'Eglise et la rue des Frères-Rouyer. Monter à gauche place Duquesnoy, puis les escaliers menant à l'église Saint-Laurent.

Suivre la rue passant devant la mairie

Du parvis, suivre la rue passant devant la mairie. Poursuivre rue des Careaulus, puis rue du Pressoir menant à la sortie du village. Gagner la D27; la traverser (Vierge).

Former Saint-Genêt chapel (16th century). Two bays with rib vaults. High hip roof, beautiful ensemble of panelling and Baroque altar.

This church of Flamboyant Gothic style dates from the end of the 15th century. The Romanesque bell tower, dating from the end of the 12th century, was recently restored.
