The Falaise trail takes you through the village of Turenne, a medieval town with narrow streets where you can admire the attached houses and private mansions from the 15th and 17th centuries. You will walk along the castle and see its imposing remains, its high Caesar tower (13th century) and its Treasury or Clock tower (14th century). They will remind you that Turenne, until the 18th century, was a real state within a state, minted its own money and raised its own troops.
Then you will reach the neighbouring causse by walking in a setting of hedged farmland, passing at the foot of the Peyrouse castle (18th century) and reaching the old quarries, the highest point of the hike where you will enjoy the panorama.
Finally, as you return to the valley of the Tourmente, you will enjoy the views of the village of Turenne, with its slate roofs.
