Trail n°17 - Tour de la Blanche

Description

This is the longest route in the valley! It passes through a number of hamlets, with different atmospheres, and reveals most of the valley's landscapes!

There are several possible departures: Seyne - Site de pleine nature du Fanget - Selonnet if you want to discover a good part of the Vallée de la Blanche in a single circuit? Then this is the route for you! Passing through all the valley's moods, environments and landscapes, you'll discover a number of villages and hamlets typical of the valley, where you can learn about local history and life while enjoying a refreshing drink! Larch forests, pastures, black earth, hamlets and streams accompany you along the route to encourage you to achieve this sporting feat.

Villages & Cités de Caractère Seyne les Alpes

Le voyageur qui arrive au Col de Maure depuis Digne-les-Bains, aperçoit soudain devant lui la riante Vallée du Pays de Seyne, la Vallée de la Blanche. Adossée à la colline de la Robine, voilà Seyne, couronnée par son Fort Vauban et sa « Grande tour ».Classé plus haut village et de Cité de Caractère des Alpes de Haute Provence, Seyne-les-Alpes dispose d'un patrimoine riche à découvrir, aussi bien architectural, historique, naturel et religieux. La citadelle Vauban et sa tour moyenâgeuse classée aux Monuments Historiques surplombent Seyne. A l'origine, ancienne forteresse gauloise, Seyne a longtemps été sous la domination des Comtes de Provence, haut-lieu des guerres de religion. Elle fut de par sa position, une ville-frontière avec le duché de Savoie, le centre des combats. Sa fortification au XVIIe siècle, sous les ordres de Louis XIV, a transformé son enceinte en l'une des nombreuses citadelles d'exception créées par Vauban. Au détour des authentiques maisons du villages, des anciens lavoirs et éléments d'architecture médiévale, on aperçoit au bout des ruelles les montagnes de la chaîne de la Blanche qui dominent la vallée. De la Porte de Provence à la Citadelle, il n'y a qu'un pas ; une traversée des charmantes ruelles ponctuées par les écomusées de la forge, de la bugade, de l'école, et du tailleur. Découvrez les infrastructures médiévales : les 3 bastions pentagonaux, l'église Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth coiffant des jardins historiques, la Chapelle des Pénitents et son rare clocher à 3 faces, la Chapelle de Bellevue et son histoire si particulière, la Place d'Armes... Les promenades dans les rues du vieux village vous permettront de découvrir les portes datées, les maisons à colombages, les placettes, les lavoirs et bien d'autres lieux remarquables. Dans le petit hameau de Chardavon, la Maison du Mulet vous présente l'activité mulassière du Pays de Seyne qui retrace l'histoire de cet animal et son importance, né ici-même. Ce village de caractère médiéval cache d'incroyables richesses à découvrir de bien des façons. Partout où vous poserez les yeux, vous pourrez vous émerveiller devant les architectures d'époque et la nature environnante. Visiter Seyne est une invitation à se cultiver et à se ressourcer : les bâtiments d'époque assouviront votre curiosité et les montagnes et forêts qui encerclent le village, vous appelleront à vous promener et à profiter d'un bain de forêt.

Trail Trip Provence-Alps

Discover a unique geological heritage and remarkable biodiversity by exploring the Haute-Provence Geopark. Starting from the Tourist Office in Château-Arnoux, the overall route of the TRAIL stay is quite demanding due to its many bumps and climbs but it offers breathtaking views. The terrain is soft which is good for the joints. Longer or shorter variations possible depending on the level. From 1 to 8 people, valid all year round, on the dates of your choice. Day 1: Trail des 2 Tours in Volonne (from the accommodation) 17 km – 310 m D+ Trail possible at night depending on the arrival time - reflective markers on the headlamp. And possibility of adding an optional loop: Petit or Grand Tour du Lac: 5 km or 10 km without elevation gain on the banks of the Durance in an exceptional ornithological reserve (170 species of birds). From 15 p.m. installation in an unusual accommodation in an eco-cabin or guest house in Volonne. The service includes the Special Trailer Organic dinner: white meat, starchy foods, cooked vegetables and fruits (excluding drinks), sports breakfast (sweet and savory). The route offers you a steep climb via the Chemin de Caramantran. Once on the flat area, the path leads to the high Cousson hills, an ideal refreshing place to take a breather and quench your thirst (fountain). The path continues to climb steadily and will offer you a clear view of the mountains around Digne-les-Bains at the Pas d'Entrages. A little more effort and a steep climb to reach the plateau and you will pass close to the Saint Michel du Cousson chapel perched on a rocky spur. You now have the summit of Cousson in your sights, take the time to admire the exceptional view of this emblematic summit. The descent will be mainly in the undergrowth, the terrain will be rather technical between stones and roots. Take the Cousson vertical kilometer route, it is a very steep descent which will take you past the intriguing Saint-Jean chapel and allow you to reach your vehicle parked at the hotel. End of stay.
