Another way to discover the remarkable remains of the Forges de Mellier through forest paths. The starting point of this walk is the old Mellier railway station. Located on the Brussels/Luxembourg line, Mellier station is one of the oldest in the province. This building is none other than the former Arlon station, which was dismantled and then rebuilt in the early 1890s on its current location. Following the closure of the station in the 1970s, it became the headquarters of the municipal administration and then of local associations. We enter the deep forest, fir trees and fens before descending, in the middle of a beautiful beech forest, the "Chemin des Princes" which joins the small road leading from the forges to the village. If you feel like it, a small diversions is necessary to the high forges, a beautiful example of the architecture and industrial activity of the past.
