The attractions of the route
The Châteauvieux chapel in a very pure Romanesque style. For four centuries, three superb Sully lime trees have watched over the building.
Two unmissable panoramas facing the Lyon conurbation and the Alps.
The first, equipped with an orientation table, is next to the town hall of Yzeron and the second towards the chapel of Châteauvieux.
The changing atmospheres over the kilometers between deciduous undergrowth, peaceful hamlets, views of the orchards of Thurins...
The granitic chaos of the Py Froid site with its mysterious balancing rocks and the dolmen known as La Roche aux Fées. The latter is located near the PDIPR trail leaving Châteauvieux towards Saint-Laurent-de-Vaux in the Bois du Faix.
When and how to take advantage of it?
With binoculars but also solid knowledge of geography to recognize the closest massifs and the most distant peaks.
The weekend to enjoy the warm and lively atmosphere of Yzeron and its shops. During the week for walkers looking for more solitary walks on the paths. By visiting the Maison de l’Araire to learn all about the archaeology, folklore and heritage of the Lyonnais mountains.
