Description
Explore the chapel of Notre-Dame du Deveix and the village of Bonnesaigne with its stonework.Opposite the Chapelle Notre Dame du Deveix behind the hotel, take the little old Turgotière road on the left.Take the track to the left.Continue by turning left.Leave the road and climb the track to the left.Turn left where the tracks cross.Straight on: the Abbesses' path on the right, the fishery on the left and abbey ruins on the right. (Off the circuit: on the left, numerous remains of the Abbey and the Barry fountain).Leave the road by a narrow path on the right, opposite the spring hidden in the ditch on the left.

Chapelle du Deveix
Cette chapelle est dédiée à la vierge, elle a été construite au 17° siècle à la demande de la dernière abbesse de Bonnesaigne, Gabrielle de Beaufort-Canillac. Elle a été détruite durant la Révolution et reconstruite au 19° siècle. Vous pourrez admirer sa vierge de pitié datant du 17° siècle qui a retrouvé sa place dans la chapelle après avoir été protéger des pillages et de la Révolution par les villageois.Aujourd’hui encore, un pèlerinage a lieu chaque année dans le mois de septembre.
Pierres de remploi
L’abbaye de Bonnesaigne a été abandonneé par les abbesses au 18° siècle après de nombreux pillages et incendies. Comme de nombreux autres bâtiments elle est alors transformée comme carrière de pierres. Elles seront utilisées pour fabriquer des bâtiments. Aujourd’hui encore vous pourrez en voir dans le village de Bonnessagne sur les maisons des villageois.

This hike begins with a landmark site, the Notre-Dame du Deveix chapel. You can then enjoy the different forest landscapes on your way to the village of Bonnesaigne. Here you can walk around the site and look for the replacement stones from the former Bonnesaigne Abbey.
Access
From the D1089 Egletons-Ussel, head towards "Chapelle de Combressol". The chapel is located 150 m after the D1089.

Advice
Be sure to locate the starting point, some distance from the town of Combressol. This hike has a longer route (14 km, marked circuit 2, which is the subject of a separate description sheet). It crosses an interpretation circuit at Bonnesaigne (which is also the subject of a description sheet).
