Arcachon, a seaside resort in the Bay of Arcachon, was born from the sea air, the scent of the pines, the train and the stroke of genius of financiers of the last century: the Pereire brothers. From the spring of 1862, avenues and curved alleys break the wind, casino and villas spread out on the dune line, Swiss chalets, Moorish pavilions, Gothic mansions and colonial residences rise. The arrival of Napoleon III provoked a craze for what became known as the Winter City.
After a walk in the Moorish Park planted with rare species, discover in the pine forest the Pereire Park and the Abatilles, a district known as the Spring City. At the end of the street, punctuated by 3 jetties, the beach is bordered by a promenade and a maritime garden. The visit continues to Moulleau, a village in the town, and ends at L'Aiguillon Saint-Ferdinand, also called Ville d'Automne, a former fishing village.
