The Vézelay Way is a major pilgrimage route used by some 1,000 pilgrims every year from northern Europe to Vézelay, the main departure point for Compostelle. The route enters Périgord via La Coquille.
From La Coquille to Thiviers, you'll notice "la pierre à cupules", the stuff of many legends. Have one counted if you meet a local.
Arriving in Thiviers, admire the Saint Roch cross at the traffic circle. At the Tourist Office, gourmets visit the foie gras museum, while others take a break on the pilgrim's benches.
This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary and take a stroll in ecomobility!
