Description

Magnificent walk starting from the center of Yvoir to discover the Ruins of Poilvache.

You start the walk by going up to the heights of the village of Yvoir to reach the Champalle Nature Reserve, which gives you a feeling of Ireland.

You then arrive at Evrehailles, a nice village with small stone houses and an old castle with a moat.

A path will then lead you to the ruins of Poilvaches.

Don't hesitate to go there, especially with your camera because the old feudal castle offers superb views on the Meuse Valley, or to taste the Fameuse Emeraude, a unique craft beer from the ruins.

Then go down to the small village of Houx and follow the Meuse river to Yvoir. You will pass in front of the mythical Island of Yvoir, you can reach it by taking the water ferry.

This walk should preferably be done with a clear sky to enjoy the beautiful landscapes overhanging the Mosane valley.
