The Petelot is a local poacher who worked between Bertrange and Guénange. Writings about him remain laconic.
This walking loop offers several curiosities: in the north of the forest, traces of the loading bay for the munitions of the Second World War which fed the Maginot Line further east still remain. Other even older traces appear in the forest where the ground, provided with mounds of several tens of metres in diameter, attest to the probable presence of tumuli. These heaps of stones or earth cover tombs dating from the Protohistory or even the Prehistory.
