A contemplative walk, suitable for all-comers, that takes you on a discovery of the wetlands, the fauna and flora of the marshes as well as Château Thomas II, a former 13th century hunting lodge.
From the Croix Verte parking lot or from the Bourget du Lac beach, take the footbridge over the Leysse to reach the protected site. This site is one of the natural and historic areas of France's largest natural lake: Lac du Bourget.
The walk ends with a magnificent view of the Aigrettes and its residents from the observatory. You'll be able to discover the environment and its remarkable wildlife species, living or passing through, on these shores of the lake.
Since spring 2016, part of the prize-winning exhibition from Terre Sauvage magazine's 2012 international photography and reporting competition, on the theme of the relationship between man and nature, has been on display along the promenade.
To avoid disturbing this exceptional ecosystem, please note that two-wheelers and dogs are not welcome.
