The most effective methods are line fishing at the start of the season and then fly fishing a little later in the season. Fishing at Montriond lake is open to fishing enthusiasts with a river fishing licence, on sale at Ardent Sports (Montriond Village center) or online on www.cartedepeche.fr

OUR FREE TAXI SERVICE Yes, it sounds too good to be true, but when you book to dine at Hotel du Lac this winter, we’ll offer you a free taxi from your accommodation to dinner, and we’ll return you home again at the end of your evening. Here’s how that works… Our free taxi service runs Monday to Friday, 6pm-midnight. Taxis are subject to availability but if you add your requirements to the comments box when you book your table. Children are welcome to the “Hôtel du Lac” restaurant. Everything is planned for them: highchairs, kids-adapted menu, outside and inside games, a slide, a swing, table tennis … New playground 100m away from the hotel. In a fairytale setting, as its name suggests, this restaurant "Maïtre Restaurateur" at the far end of Montriond Lake invites you to discover the flavours of the region through deliciously cooked dishes using the finest local ingredients.Wonderfull panoramic view over Montriond Lake and Roc d'Enfer.

This stunning lake - known also as the emerald green lake - sits quietly at the foot of immense cliffs and is a favourite with children and adults thanks to the idyllic view and the feeling of calm it evokes.Lake Montriond is a huge outdoor playground with something for everyone. It includes a swimming area that’s suitable for very young swimmers (lifeguards in July and August), while other visitors can try pony riding, canoeing, paddle. Older children and adults also enjoy walking around the lake to take in the intoxicating beauty of it all... The lake is also a jewel of a find for anglers, with its healthy stock of fario trout and rainbow trout, char and tiddlers! A fishing licence is required.

Montriond Lake is an ideal place for a children's pony ride with its fairytale setting. They can either do a quick half-hour or take a whole hour to do a tour of the lake while older family members can enjoy the bathing area…

Une sortie pour découvrir les mystères de la formation du lac et pour comprendre le lien étroit entre patrimoine géologique et activités humaines : exploitation de ressources, gestion des risques.Option ½ journée (C3, C4) - Entre observations, descriptions et expérimentations, les élèves se livreront à une véritable chasse aux indices sur les bords du lac. Elle leur permettra de découvrir l’éboulement à l’origine de sa formation. Ils comprendront comment l’eau est désormais retenue et pourquoi le lac est devenu indispensable à la vie de la commune. Option journée (C4, 2de) - Une randonnée du lac aux ardoisières d’Ardent permettra d’aborder plusieurs thèmes : • la formation du lac de Montriond, qui a pour origine un éboulement ; • l’histoire des paysages chablaisiens et de la géologie alpine (sédimentation, tectonique et érosion) ; • l’interaction entre la nature des sols, l’activité humaine et la végétation : les risques naturels et les moyens de protection (forêts, paravalanches), l’exploitation des ressources naturelles (ardoisières) et l’aménagement touristique du lac.
