Hiking trail "Sainte Grique"

Medium difficulty trail, offering gorgeous views of the Chabre Mountain, Saint Genis and the Buëch valley. An out of this world ridge landscape.

Signs : yellow

1 - Start
Park on the square in front of the city hall.
Take the road going down with the VVF on the right, then take the right path at the first turn. On the left, you can admire the Chabre Mountain from a belvedere. Ignore de left and right paths and proceed forward.
At the first crossroad, ignore the right path and continue forward.

2 - Crossroads - road - trail (2bis)
At the crossroad with the short path, go right after 100 m, then take the path going up on the left toward the Rocher de Garde (2bis).
On the right, you can see the hamlet of Saint-Grique (Saint Agricole).
Go up to the next crossroad and enjoy a few small breaks to admire the meadows, the marls and the Rocher de Garde.

3 - Crossroad - GR sins
Go right toward Trescléoux, then follow the GR 946 signs (white and red).
Enjoy the panoramic view with the marl rocks in front and the Chabre Mountain in the background (photo). Enjoy the fresh air under the pine trees in a hot weather.
Be careful on the way down, the trail goes down abruptly on a marl ridge.

4 - Crossroad on the marls terrain
In the marls area, turn left (GR signs) and go down on the side, be careful, it's steep ! Take the time to admire the panoramic view of the Dévoluy Massif. Follow the trail to the end of the valley.

5 - Crossrad - path - yellow signs
Turn left on a large path, now follow the yellow signs (toward Lagrand - 2,5 km). Proceed straight ahead and ignore the paths on the left, turn right then left to arrive in the hamlet of Garelle.

6 - Hamlet of Garelle - crossroad
Turn left (toward Lagrand 2 km). You now have a panoramic view of the Chabre Mountain. Walk along this unique hamlet on the left then cross the first bridge.

7 - Crossroad, 20 m before the bridge over the Blaisance.
20 m before the bridge, take the thin trail going into the forest. Carefully go up the marl cliffside, in the distance you can see the church of Lagrand and the Blaisance river flowing along the plateau.

8 - Crossroad - return trip
Turn left to reach Lagrand.

9 - Arrival or extension
At the entrance of the village, turn right to go back to the parking lot in front of the city hall, picnic tables are available on the left to take a break. For the bravest, proceed straight ahead to discover the church and the village.
