De Xaintrailles à Pompiey, lectures de paysage

From Xaintrailles, on the border of the hillsides and the forest, there is a deep circular panorama. It is one of the highest points in the department. Situated on a plateau overlooking the moor and the rich plain of the Garonne, it was created according to an elongated plan around its castle. Today, it is a village whose vocation is essentially wine-growing. You can discover the many vineyards along the walk which will also lead you to the village of Pompiey, which hides like a surprise in its green setting with its rural landscapes alternating between fields and forests. It was distinguished very early on by the cultivation of cork, especially during the 19th century.
