The Canal des 2 Mers à Vélo is the only tourist itinerary that links two coasts, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and crosses the great South-West of France between Royan and Sète. The 750 km long itinerary is divided into three sections: the Gironde Estuary, the Garonne Canal and the Canal du Midi.
In Lot-et-Garonne, you will cycle along the Canal de Garonne, mainly on a greenway built on the old towpath. If each stage invites you to fall under the charm of the lock houses, the bastides, the Buzet vineyards or the rural landscapes, one of the highlights of the trip will be your arrival in Agen by the canal-bridge over the Garonne, the second longest canal-bridge in France, entirely built of cut stone. The walk is rich in discoveries, right next to the water and under the coolness of the hundred-year-old plane trees.
