Birac-sur-Trec is located on a territory bathed by the waters of the Trec and Canaule rivers. Its strategic location has been coveted for centuries by many families of the region, after having passed successively into English and French hands during the Hundred Years' War.
The seigneury of Birac is first mentioned in the 13th century. A castle and a church were built there at that time. You can see the remains of these buildings during this tour which, from the village of Birac, located in the first foothills of the Marmandais hillsides, culminates at 130 m, before descending on the sandy tracks of the Garonne valley. You will see other elements of the local heritage including the mill of Birac, a dovecote, the chapel of Bistauzac, and a wash-house. You will also be able to enjoy the views that this loop offers over the region.
