Built on a hill, the village of Francescas, dominates hillsides and valleys. This village was first formed around the church and then, in 1286, Edward I transformed it into a bastide. It is then enclosed in fortifications and surrounded by moats. The access is made by four doors, damaged during the wars of Religion, they are destroyed in the eighteenth century.
Today, you can see a house whose facades date from the 16th century, which houses a museum of tin cans. 500 pieces from England and elsewhere are on display. Before leaving the bastide, look for the house of La Hire, companion of Joan of Arc, which dates from the 13th century
On this circuit, you will see representative pigeon lofts of Albret with original roofs on the round tower of the bastide of Francescas, built on round pillars, stones in Terrette or square tower in Coussire.
