The Jemaye pond is now linked to the Parcot farm by a hiking trail, opening up a place full of history and legends. The Parcot farm shows the daily rural life of people in the past. This path crosses the Jarthes and the Etang neuf, surrounded by the forest of the Double, partly replanted with pine trees in the 19th century to fight against stagnant water and malaria. The ponds attract numerous animal species, the most emblematic of which is the cistude turtle, which you can see from the observatory set up on the discovery trail. Over the last fifteen years, the Departmental Council, which has become the owner, has turned it into a model site where nature is preserved and promoted as part of the Espaces Naturels Sensibles.
