Misson is a small village that stretches over 14.7 kilometres. It is situated at an altitude of 90 metres and has about 800 inhabitants. It is crossed by the stream of Leplace, the stream of Grand Arrigan and the stream of Yats.
Misson is twinned with the town of Arnac in the Cantal.
In 1641, Misson belonged to the royal provostry of Dax, which bought from Louis XII certain domain rights.
Fifty years ago, Misson was home to renowned clog makers and gem makers. Today these trades have disappeared but they reappear in some craft exhibitions. Nowadays, the identity of the village reflects a long history.
