The Côtes du Marmandais appellation has a particularity of its own: it is shared by the Garonne river and its vineyards stretch over both the right and left bank slopes. The valley is a sort of non-viticultural no-man's land separating the two vineyards. For decades, the history of these hillsides was written separately. On the right bank, very close to the town of Marmande, the winegrowers have become attached to the history of the town and have taken its cloister as their emblem, signing their vintages with it. On the left bank, the winegrowers have gathered around the Cave de Cocumont and its now legendary Romanesque church.
