Sigy wood
Description
The distinctive Montois region lies between the Brie plain and the Seine valley.
This circuit features a rich architectural heritage, with châteaux and churches, as well as woods and gardens showing nature in all its glory.

Departure - Point 1
From the car park, take Rue de l’Église on your right, right again onto Rue des Cloîtres. Go straight ahead and take Rue Salgues on your left. Go up the road on your left for 500m.
Point 2
Before the bend, follow the track on your right and go straight ahead. Take the D75 on your right, Rue de la Fontaine du Ville on your left, the second path on your right and at the bend, take the track opposite. It enters the wood, bears left and crosses the brook. Zigzag along the road. Further up, take the track on your right.
Point 3
When you reach Thénisy, go down Rue de l'Abreuvoir on your right, cut across the road and continue opposite. At the crossroads at the top, go down the track on your left. Take the D62 on your right to the crossroads in Sigy.
Point 4
Take the D77b on your right, then the path between the houses on your left. In the bend to your left, continue opposite and walk along the fields on your left. Follow the track on your right. It takes you through the undergrowth along the edge of the wood.
Point 5
Follow the track on your right through the wood. It winds round and along the edge of the wood. Go up the track on your right, in and out of the woods and fields, until you reach the plateau.
Point 6
Keep left when the path forks. The track takes you down a gentle slope. Cut across the D213 and go down the slope opposite. Turn right, pass the château and go to Le Plessisaux-Chats.
Point 7
Once there, go up the road on your right, then the second track on your left. Climb towards the forest on your right. Pass the tracks left and right, walk along Vincent pond then continue straight ahead. The track follows the D403 on your left. Go straight over crossroads then, before the cemetery, follow the aqueduct on your right. Turn left and go down the street on your right.

Take Rue des Écoles on your left, then turn right, take Rue du Pré-Padou on your right, boulevard d’Haussonville on your right, turn left and take Rue de la Porte-de-Melun on your right. Finally you reach the church on your left.

• If there are any doubts regarding which path to take, markings take precedence over the description.
• Respect nature and private property.
• Don't litter.
• Avoid routes during hunting season (check with the town halls or the Seine-et-Marne hunting federation).
• Close gates and fences after you.
• Whenever possible, remove any obstacles from the path.
