An unmissable natural site within the Jura, the Hérisson waterfalls live up to their reputation. A trail adapted with walkways, stairs and belvederes allows hikers to admire the river's amazing lines from one waterfall to another.
From the upper parking lot, carefully cross the D39 towards the point of departure for this hike, starting with a gravel road. From here, the itinerary is well signposted. You only need to follow the signs for the Hérisson Waterfalls trail - To the bottom - House of Waterfalls on your way there and To the top - Upper parking lot to return. Along your route, four interpretive signs provide historical information on this remarkable natural site:

Both on the journey there and back, the Hérisson river, punctuated by sparkling waterfalls in a rich mineral and vegetal environment, is a wonderous sight. A touch of fun is added through informational signposts and the House of Waterfalls will satsify the most curious minds.
9km from St-Laurent-en-Grandvaux, the Upper parking lot located in the hamlet of Ilay is well signposted from the D678 and the D39.
The Girard Leap has been adapted to allow access for people with reduced mobility. A belvedere has been built on the edge of the D75 and provides a view of the waterfall. Disabled individuals can also head down by car.

During rainy weather, take care on the trails. Although equipped with handrails and walkways, some areas can be slippery.The section between the "Great Leap" waterfall and the "Fan", the last waterfall of the hike, is very steep and includes steps. However, this last waterfall, considered the most remarkable, can be accessed from the lower parking lot where the House of Waterfalls can also be found.In winter, the site is usually closed for safety reasons.Do not hesitate to contact the Tourist Office for information on the House of Waterfalls opening times and prices, or for any other information.
