From the unsuspected pastoral plateau of Pagaltzeta, overlooking the heart of the village of Estérençuby, we head for the land of domestic herds and wide horizons. Blondes d'Aquitaine (cows) and black-headed and red-headed manechs (ewes) are the guardians of a pastoral cirque directly facing Spain, looking from Urkulu to Errozate. This family hiking trail goes beyond the fenced-in meadows and onto the heights, treading on communal land for a path from one hump to the next, in search of plunging views. Sitting at the foot of the summit hawthorn, or lying between grass and heather, take the time to count the valley hamlets or feel the breezes carrying squadrons of raptors, vultures and kites. A walk for all, ending its course with a short portion of the famous GR10, the route of crossing the Pyrenees.
