Large plots of arable land stretch as far as the eye can see, punctuated by the occasional tree or wood. Villages have tended to develop on the edge of the plateau, not far from rivers or valleys. The medieval village of Issigeac is built on the edge of the Banège, whose valley forms a break in the large-scale cultivation, showing an urban universe with its orderly layout.
