Mont Bochor discovery trail - Loop footpath
Description
Learn all about the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains and environment: flora, fauna, landscapes, geology, and history.
At the top station of the aerial tram, on Mt. Bochor plateau, stroll along the interpretive trail with information signs that teach you all about the surrounding environment.
Access the trailhead by taking the aerial tram or on foot starting from the village (1.5 hour hike).

Mt. Bochor aerial tram
In both winter and summer, the aerial tram takes you to 2010m elevation in just three minutes. From there, walk to the panoramic interpretive sign at the 2023m high point for 360° panoramic views of the peaks and glaciers of the Vanoise Range.In summer, several MTB and hiking trails start from the top of the tram: Col Rosset Pass, Col de la Vanoise Pass, Les Fontanettes. In winter, you can reach the high point of the ski area from the top of the tram. Purchase tickets at the base of the aerial tram. Dogs allowed outside Vanoise National Park. The ticket window closes 5 minutes before the lift closes to the general public (at lunch time and in the evening).

At the top station of the aerial tram and the start for several hikes, mtB runs, and the discovery trail, Le Pachu 2000 is the ideal restaurant to enjoy the peaceful calm of the mountains as a family, with a wide choice of dishes on the menu! Watch the marmots from your deck chair.

1. From the Bouquetin car park, go to the center of the village at the start of the Mont Bochor cable car.
2. After a transfer of 600 m of elevation gain in 3 minutes, you will find the start of the trail on the Bochor plateau, about 100 m after leaving the cabin. This discovery trail offers 11 reading tables on the different aspects of the Alpine landscape and environment.
You will be able to observe, depending on the type of soil and the exposure, a varied flora with the presence of a multitude of insects and butterflies (Apollo, etc.), some of which are very rare, between forest and alpine lawn. You will share the space with a herd of dairy cows.
A geological table awaits you at the highest point of the route, at 2,023 m.
Before your eyes, part of the Pralognan ski area and in the background the Aiguille de la Vanoise and the highest peak in Savoie: the Grande Casse.

3. Trail no. 7 (then 17)
Reach the start of the trail by taking the pastoral route (from Pachu 2000). After the Ancolie chairlift station, take the 2nd path on the left. Steep but comfortable and well marked path that takes you directly to Pralognan (600 m drop) passing through the hamlet of Fontanettes.
