The loop of the Haros, named after a stream that flows into the Saye. Attached to the neighbouring commune of Saint-Savin with the French Revolution, Saint-Yzan gained its autonomy at the end of the 19th century by taking advantage of the arrival of the railway, which allowed significant development. To the west of the village, in the immediate vicinity of the town hall and the college, you will discover the small church built in the 12th century which testifies to the seniority of the parish. Partially remodelled in the 15th century, the church has kept its Romanesque silhouette and some sculpted modillions. The countryside offers to the contemplation a beautiful variety of landscapes where vineyards, meadows and pine forest delicately alternate. From the heights one can admire the breathtaking view over the whole valley and in good weather one can see the Pont d'Aquitaine, the gateway
