From the village of Cadalen, with its 13th-century Romanesque gateway and the ancestral home of the poet Francis Jammes, to the village of Técou, an ancient medieval bastide founded in 1277, these small villages have preserved their ancient structure, little changed by new construction.
The economy of the Gaillac region is linked to the wine industry, with independent winegrowers and wine cooperatives.
