The Isle valley and the nearby Double forest were an active centre of resistance during the Second World War. This resistance, sometimes paid for at a high price, has left its mark on people's minds and on the landscape. From the Mussidan station, a place of important battles, the route will lead you to the forest of the Double where the maquis camps are evoked, their functioning, the battles, the tragedies and the victories,
to Neuvic station where the resistance succeeded in the biggest heist of the 20th century.
