This little town surrounded by the meander of the River Doustre is divided into two parts: the Roche-Haute, built on the plateau, and the Roche Basse, nestling into the hillside 50m below. Founded in the 9C, the Roche-Basse is criss-crossed by narrow paths known as "courrijoux", which allow access to the terraced plots used for growing crops.

This house is located in a hamlet, crossed by the Doustre, a tributary of the river Dordogne. Three large guest rooms have been designed to accomodate eight persons with comfort. The building is a former barn dated from 1912, typical of the constructions of the area, with its old stones and slate roof.

The medieval town of Beaulieu stands on the right bank of the River Dordogne. Nicknamed the "Limousin Riviera" because of its mild climate, the area is perfect for strawberry cultivation. The abbey church of St Pierre is all that remains of the Benedictine abbey founded here in the 9C by Raoul de Turenne, the archbishop of Bourges. Of particular interest is the tympanum depicting the Last Judgement, one of the finest in France.

This Benedictine abbey was founded in the 9th c. by Raoul de Turenne, Archbishop of Bourges. It is one of the most remarkable monastic churches of the Limousin Romanesque style. The glory of the church is the tympanum made by southern stone cutters about 1135. It depicts the return and triumph of the Lord in Glory at the end of Time, which precedes the last judgment, also called the second parousia The treasure is exhibited in the north transept. It consists of the famous statue of the Virgin and Child in wood covered with silver dating from the 12th century, also called the Virgin of Beaulieu, a lantern (in fact a reliquary) which may be of Byzantine origin dating from the 11th century, an enamelled shrine dating from the 13th century and representing the journey of the Three Wise Men, and two silver reliquary arms from the 13th century, those of Sainte-Félicité and Saint-Emilion. The other reliquary objects all date from the 17th and 18th century. Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne is a member of the Federation of Clunisian Sites.

The village has a breathtaking natural setting with its ponds and woods. Discover Sédières, a castle from the 15th century which proposes many events and activities (biking, hiking, fishing, geocaching etc.), the former railway of the "Tacot", a train that connected the stations of Brive and Ussel or the church from the 12th century.

Situated on the banks of the Dordogne, Argentat sur Dordogne was for centuries a major trading port. Traditional flat-bottomed gabare boats once left from Quai Lestourgie loaded with local products such as wood, leather and oil. Today the riverside quays, still paved with traditional stone, are lined with old houses bearing lauze-stone covered towers and pepperpot roofs.

Argentat-sur-Dordogne a été durant des siècles un grand port de commerce. Du quai Lestourgie partaient les gabares chargées de bois, de cuir et d'huile. Vous prendrez beaucoup de plaisir à flâner le long des quais pavés à l'ancienne pour admirer les maisons de pêcheurs chapeautées de lauze, les façades nobles et leurs tourelles.
