Starting from Beaupont, a walk on the Bresse paths on the borders of the Sevron and Solnan rivers. A typical landscape between hamlets, pastures and views on the Revermont before reaching the pond of Fougemagne and its large forest.
This circuit winds its way through the commune of Pirajoux, formerly situated on a Roman road going from Mâcon to Besançon and passing through Montrevel en Bresse.
It became later a toll place between Bresse and Franche Comté.
Before reaching the pond of Fougemagne, spectacular point of the route, you will pass in front of the mill of Romanèche also called MOULIN REVEL located on the river "le Solnan". This mill bears witness to the rich milling activity of the past on the Solnan and Sevron rivers. For a century, from 1650 to 1750, it was the property of the Saint-Sulpice family and then of the Carthusian monks of Montmerle. Acquired during the revolution by Denis-Joseph Revel, this mill now belongs to the MICHEL family who use it to make flour for cattle feed. Note some old parts, including the weir made of strong ashlars.
The pond of the Marcs, put in water in November 1996, by the fishing society of Coligny "Les amis du Solnan", owner of the place, invites you to a relaxing pause.
At the end of a stone path, the Fougemagne pond is revealed. It is named after the forest of the same name, whose origin comes from the undergrowth of large ferns. This 3 hectare pond, today property of the commune of Coligny, belonged in the 18th century to Gaspard Guyenard, Lord of Andelot. It was used for hemp scutching, an operation which consisted in separating the woody parts from the fiber. This pond is now rented by the commune to the fishing society "Les amis du Solnan".
