Description

The Nerech waterfall is one of the most abundant waterfalls in the Couserans. A biodiversity hotspot, it boasts the widest variety of orchids in the area.

Through beech woods and granite rocks, once occupied by the beaches and lagoons of the Permotrias, you'll discover this luminous water from the glaciers.

1/ Départ du parking du Pla de la Lau 0 h 935 m

2/ Suivez le GRT qui descend vers le ruisseau et part vers la droite (panneaux). On le quitte rapidement, néanmoins ne pas franchir la passerelle mais filez tout droit sur le transfrontalier du Port de la Girette balisé rouge et blanc.

3/ Un peu plus loin, vous laissez l’itinéraire du Barlonguère à droite pour franchir deux passerelles sur la gauche. Vous remontez la rive droite du ruisseau. Le sentier bien tracé se poursuit dans la forêt pour déboucher près d’un abri sous roche (la tutte de l’ours) puis se dédouble. Une passerelle vous permet de suivre le parcours sur l’autre rive pour arriver à la

4/ Cascade de Nérech 1h 40 1350 m

Le retour s’effectue par le même itinéraire en sens inverse jusqu’au
Parking du Pla de la Lau 3h 30 935 m

Follow the D4, at Castillon head towards Les Bordes sur Lez, go through the village, and 2 km later turn left onto the road towards the Riberot valley, which takes you to the Pla de la Lau car park (920 m).
