Esplanade Jean Ferrier

A Cormeilles-en-Parisis, l’architecte Benjamin Fleury a aménagé l’esplanade Jean Ferrier en un nouveau pôle de centralité urbaine, desservant des équipements de loisirs. Précédemment occupée par un parking, la nouvelle esplanade (116×65 mètres) est devenue un espace public majeur, vecteur d’intensité urbaine et capable de fédérer l’ensemble des habitants, toutes classes d’âges confondues. Bordée par une piscine, un théâtre, un collège, un complexe sportif et une future école des arts, la place est structurée suivant un cheminement diagonal reliant l’entrée de la piscine à celle de la future école des arts. Ce plateau minéral, perforé de noues et d’espaces verts, est découpé en plusieurs sous-espaces. A chacun est affecté une fonction précise répondant aux besoins des différentes générations: jeux pour enfants, city-stade pour adolescents et « salons » pour parents. Deux espaces évènementiels, l’un minéral et de forme ronde, l’autre en stabilisé et de forme rectangulaire, viennent compléter le dispositif et offrir la possibilité d’usages divers: fête de la musique, retransmissions d’évènements sur écran géant, terrain de beach volley durant l’été… De longs mats d’éclairage ponctuent de jour les différentes séquences de la place et, de nuit, des spots colorés dirigés sur la diagonale confèrent une autre dimension à cet espace public. Un ensemble de noues paysagées structure l’esplanade et permet une gestion environnementale des eaux pluviales.
