This itinerary, starting from the village of Albiez-le-Jeune, is the first stage of the Tour du Pays des Aiguilles d'Arves. At the end of the day, you'll leave civilization behind and arrive in the alpine pastures of the Plateau de Montrond, at the foot of the Aiguilles.

You'll soon leave the narrow streets of Albiez-le-Jeune to discover a route through meadows and forests that leads to the Moine de Champlan, a bizarre fairy chimney with a coiffed head.
Your path then alternates between departmental road, hamlet and stream crossing before arriving at the Chef-lieu of the pretty village of Albiez-Montrond.

Once you've reached the Col du Mollard, you'll arrive on the Plateau de Montrond at the end of the day, where you can admire the sunset from the terrace of the cosy Chalet d'la Croë.
Chalet d'la Croë offers you a unique experience: sleeping under the stars at the foot of the Aiguilles d'Arves. There are three ways to do this: - rent a single pitch - rent a pitch with tent, mattress and comforter - reserve a geodesic domeMountain guide Virginie welcomes you to her summer garden at Chalet d'la Croë*, offering Savoyard recipes based on local produce (evening bookings only) and the chance to sleep under the stars. On-site chickens, goats, dogs and sometimes cows! Accommodation is located outside the chalet. There are : - Three geodesic domes: 2 five-place domes (two double beds and one single bed) 1 three-place dome (one large double bed) They are unheated and not shared with others for your privacy. The front of the domes has a beautiful view of the Belledonne mountain range. - An area for bivouacs and overnight stays in tents Overnight stays include dinner and breakfast on a half-board basis. The evening meal is a unique "home-made" menu or a Savoyard Fondue menu on reservation (supplement of 4€/pers for adults). There's an outdoor toilet block, as well as dry toilets and a drinking water point. Crocs are available. To save water, showers are only available for two-day stays. For all overnight stays, and for reasons of hygiene, each guest must bring a sheet or meat bag and a pillowcase (square). Blankets are available in the domes. You can find all the daily products in this mini market - food, situated in the center of the village : general food, cooked meats and cheese, grocery, regional products, bread, gas, hardware and first aid.This place was at once a farm, before being restored in traditional grocery. This familial shop, essential in the village, is open everyday of the year. Every day, fresh bread deliver from "Moulin Valentin".
At the Sherpa supermarket on the Col du Mollard, you'll find: a fine butchery-cheese-catering department, regional products, fresh bread... As well as roast chicken on Wednesdays and Sundays, and fresh fish on Thursdays (reservations recommended).Grocery, butcher's, delicatessen, rotisserie, delicatessen, cheese shop, culinary specialities: mountain beef sausages, fresh bread depot, regional products, parapharmacy, souvenirs, local press, sale of snow chains... Raclette and fondue prepared to order. Roast chicken on Wednesdays and Sundays and fresh fish on Thursdays, booking recommended. Enjoy the lake, its fantastic surroundings and great facilities for all. Picnic areas, boules, volleyball. Free parking.This lovely lake is the perfect place for a relaxing swim. Swimming is supervised in season, and the lake is divided into two sections (bathing to a maximum depth of 1.50 m and bathing to a maximum depth of 5 m). For younger children, a natural paddling pool adjoins the lake. Around the lake, you'll find 7 picnic tables, public toilets, a snack bar, children's games, volleyball and petanque courts. Coming directly from the resort's springs, the water is clean and cool (23.5° at the height of summer). It's a comfortable place to swim. From the diving platform or from your towel, you can admire the panoramic view of Mont Emy, the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Corbier and La Toussuire resorts and the village's chief town. An ideal place for all ages to swim, play, sunbathe, relax, picnic and enjoy the summer! Supervised swimming and access to the Mississipi boats and aqualudic course every day from 1pm to 7pm during the summer vacations. Free parking and WC.

1/ From the Chef-lieu of Albiez-le-Jeune, head towards Moine de Champlan.
2/ At Moine de Champlan, turn left towards Les Aiguilles d'Arves to join the RD80 at Croix de la Ducherie
3/ Turn right on RD80 to Ravin du Claret
4/ Take the track on the right towards the hamlet of Bonvillard.
5/ Cross the hamlet and continue towards Albiez-Montrond
6/ Return to the RD80 at Des Combarres. Follow the road to Place Opinel.
7/ Head for Col du Mollard. Take the Montée du Col
8/ At the Col, continue for 100 m, then turn slightly left onto Rue du Ravarin towards La Frédière.
9/ At the Échaux chairlift, turn left onto Route de la Praz, continuing towards La Frédière.
10/ At La Frédière, go back down to Rieu Gilbert, then up via the Sur la Broue chalet.
11/ Rejoin the road, continue uphill, then turn left onto the path towards Les Chabottes.
12/ At the signpost for Le Torrent, turn right onto the track. Take the left-hand track to Chalet d'la Croë.
We advise you to book accommodation well in advance, given its small capacity.
