The two wet docks were built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries
on the left bank of the Garonne. These basins were the nerve centers of Bordeaux
and maritime activity on the eve of the First World War
the First World War. Today, the 160 hectares of industrial and port wasteland are being transformed
a mixed-use district in the midst of an architectural transformation, with ambitious
residential, cultural and leisure projects, while preserving its maritime heritage.
Balades à Roulettes® (BR®) are short, leisurely strolls with a baby carriage or small bicycle, or adapted for people with reduced mobility (in wheelchairs), offered by the Fédération Française de Randonnée de la Gironde.
