This hike takes you to a superb high mountain pond surrounded by a granite massif including the Dent de Mède (technical path).
0.00 A- Start of the hike from the Cirque de Gérac; parking area at the bottom of the cirque.
0.05 B- Climb eastwards on a winding road towards the Col de Cerda.
0.30 C- Col de Cerda: take the path that descends slightly
then follows the contours of the valley.
It is well marked except when crossing scree.
1.30 D- Etang d'Aubé: return by the same route (1 H 15
min)

From Seix, head towards Guzet Neige as far as Prat Mataou.
just before the end of the road turn right towards "Col d'Escots".
d'Escots" along a track for 2 km as far as the Col d'Escots (high-altitude restaurant).
then continue for 3 km to the cirque de Gérac (car park)
