Description

This walk will take you through the pretty little hamlets of Montardit and you'll discover the unusual little chapel of Notre Dame de la Goutte.

This curious little chapel, worthy of a surrealist sculptor, was built in 1968 by Abbé Jean-Marie Piquemal and has become a place of pilgrimage during the liturgical feast of Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs on 15 September. The place exudes a kind of peacefulness and quiet strength.

La chapelle Notre-Dame de la Goutte ressemble à la fois à un lieu de culte vieux de 400 ans, et à une œuvre d’art architecturale et loufoque du XXème siècle.Elle fut construite pierre par pierre durant 33 ans par l’abbé Piquemal et ses bénévoles entre 1968 et 2001.
