Description
A walk along the Biros soulane to discover the old marble quarry, where marble was cut using the straight step method and helical wire sawing.
The route offers panoramic views from the Col de la Core to the Col de Nédé.

1/ Departure from the Oratoire d'Uchentein 0h - 985 m
At the end of the village, turn right 200 m towards Balacet and follow the path up the hill to the first fork. Turn right to cross to the watering hole (often dry). 30-40 metres further on, climb to the left and you will soon come out onto the meadow. A little later, you will come to the hut and the site of the
2/ Uchentein marble quarry 1h - 1215 m
At the bottom of the quarry, follow the path downhill. The path forks slightly to the left. It is lined with beautiful low stone walls. Keep to the left. You will pass by an orientation table, then the route drops back down to the main road.

Location complements
At Castillon, take the D4 towards Sentein. After 6 km, turn right onto the D704 as far as the Uchentein exit. Car park on the left as you leave the village.
