A shady path that runs alongside the Garbet and then the Ars stream as far as the Pas d'Enfer gorge, past the remains of the old Prabis forge. This route is ideal for a walk on a sunny afternoon.
1/ 0h - Take the D8 towards the Col d'Agnès as far as the village exit, at a place called "la Croix du ruisseau" (400m from the car park).
2/ 5min - Take the path below, which runs between the road and the barn. The path passes next to an electricity factory where you will find the last remnants of a Catalan-style forge.
3/ 15 min - At the GR10 junction, turn right, then cross the Mouline bridge over the Garbet. The path passes close to the confluence of the Ars and Garbet rivers, and continues along the Ars as far as the Prabis charcoal kiln.
4/ 55 min - Prabis coal kiln (the remains of the kiln form a circular wall to the right of the path). To the left of the furnace are the old Raspes mines, which were rendered inaccessible by a landslide a few years ago. In the 19th century, a cable carried the ore down the 200-metre slope to where you are now.)
5/ 1h - Then you come to the Pas d'Enfer, where you will discover turquoise or emerald coloured chasms, depending on the season and the flow of the Ars.
Return by the same route.
