Cavard circuit

Description

A lovely walk that takes you to the peaceful clearing at Cavard - with a possible detour to the famous bobsleigh track - walking past the traces of La Plagne's mining past before it became a ski resort.
The trail leaves from the bottom of Plagne 1800, at the end of the large outdoor car park on the other side of the road from Le Loup Blanc restaurant.
The path goes downhill for 400 m. then through the forest to come out in the clearing at Cavard after about 30 mins walk. From there, you can walk up to Plagne Bellecôte (where you can take the free inter-resort bus back to Plagne Centre from opposite Bellecôte tourist office) or make a detour to see the top of the bobsleigh track.
To do this, walk down on the left bank of the Arc stream until you come to the main road going up to La Plagne. From Pont de l’Arc, you get to the top of the bobsleigh track (and Les Mairiers trail) by walking about 100 m up the road (behind the safety barriers). Go back the same way or take the free bus (one every hour). Find the bus schedule displayed in our Tourist Offices and/or on the "Mov'In Plagne" app.
The walk can also be done in the opposite direction, leaving from Bellecôte (see the "Les Frasses" itinerary sheet) and arriving in Plagne 1800 (return on the free resort bus).
